Mike's racing career began in quarter-midgets taking the Quarter Midget Association "AA" National Title at the age of 9 in 1962. Winning 12 Grand Nationals, capturing the 1981 AMA Winston Pro Grand National Championship and sponsored by the US Army 1979-80 were just a couple highlights. Mike went on to become a prominent race promoter.
